Suche o.g. Auto - Ich fuhr es früher mal und ich weiß auch nicht wie aber irgendwie bin ich jetzt davon überzeugt mir den wieder zu kaufen, Alterssentimentalität ;-) Erste oder zweite Bauhreihe ist ziemlich egal, ich hatte die zweite. Bei einer kurzen Recherche habe ich überrascht festgestellt, dass es bspw französische Versionen gab, die elektrische Fensterheber und Spiegeleinstellung haben und sogar eine Spritzanlage für die Scheinwerfer. Sowas will ich eigentlich nicht. Gibt es eine Seite, sowas wie eine Hobby- oder Fanseite auf der alle Infos zu den 626ern gesammelt werden? Naja auf jeden Fall suche ich mein altes Coupe..hätt ichs damals bloß nicht verkauft, aber nachher ist man immer schlauer. Danke, und allzeit gute Fahrt, Thorsten

Ja den hab ich auch schon gesehen, finde ich aber ziemlich teuer (auf jeden Fall weit weg von meinen Möglichkeiten) und er hat nur die kleine Maschine drin.

Welche Beziehungen muss man eigentlich haben, um die Coupefahrer in Deutschland rauszubekommen? ;-)

35 year old car with 57550 kilometers = 1600km/year. This is almost a new car.

Also, the 1600 motor is much better than the 2.0L. You will only notice the small engine if the
car has 4 occupants and the boot is full, and then you travel up the mountain roads.

I would buy this car tomorrow if I was living in Germany, but then I am crazy and like S1 626 coupes.

I do not agree with you that the 1,6l engine runs as good as the 2,0l engine. I changed in one of my coupes the engine from1,6l to 2,0l and it was much different.


Weitere Informationen zu einzelnen Modellen findest Du hier im Forum, wo es speziell um die Fahrzeuge geht. Die version von der Du sprichst ist keine Französische, sondern wurde beispielsweise so auch in Österreich verkauft.

Did you replace the 1600 with the 2.0L in a 626? If yes, then this engine will perform much better than normal because the 1600 model has much better gearing,
BUT, it will rev(rotate) faster and MA 2.0L engines do not like to rev high for very long.

With standard 2.0L 626 gearing, the 2.0L engine is fat and lazy, and does not like to work hard!
The only real benefit of this motor is, it makes more torque at low RPM but the penalty is, it is heavier.

For me, to enhance one of these early series motors, it would be the 1600. It is physically smaller(shorter in height) and lighter.
It also has a shorter piston stroke - this means it likes to rev. It would benefit greatly by giving a bigger carburetor, larger valves, modified camshaft profile.

Talking about a dog of the line, my 2.0L is attached to a slushbox automatic.....
And no it doesn't like revving.
Do you also have the gear ratios for the 3speed automatic?
Obviously by todays standards a forth gear (overdrive) would be in order.
